Minister for Health Simon Harris has confirmed that cigarette machines will soon be banned, and that people under 18 will not be able to purchase vaping devices.
Statistics show that as many as 6,000 deaths per year in Ireland are linked to smoking.
Vaping has also been linked to a potentially deadly pulmonary disease currently affecting thousands in the United States and elsewhere.
