Minister for Health Simon Harris faces increased pressure to step down after his shambolic handling of the National Children’s Hospital overspend scandal

The Minister for Health Simon Harris is facing intense pressure to step down from his job, over his handling of the National Children’s Hospital overspend scandal.

Harris is taking flak from multiple angles, with both Sinn Fein and opposition TDs calling for his resignation.

The minister had maintained that he had no knowledge of the runaway costs of building the new hospital until November of last year, but a number of memos emerged proving that he knew about it as far back as August of 2018.
