The Minister for Health Stephen Donnelly has confirmed that the Covid-19 booster vaccine programme will begin next month.
Speaking to RTE News, Donnelly said the booster will be given at the same time as the annual flu vaccine which normally begins in late September.
Although no information has been given on which age groups will receive the booster vaccine, it is expected that the elderly, frontline workers and the vulnerable will be given the booster vaccine.
Donnelly added that he will be provided further information from NIAC next week.
