An Irish dad and his daughter survived a plane crash caused by “complete engine failure” at the weekend.
Cork father John Ordway and daughter Isabella were partaking in a vintage air rally when the incident occurred near Nairobi, Kenya.
They were forced to crash land in a field 80 miles from the city in but miraculously walked away “without a scratch”.
Mr Ordway posted pictures of the plane wreckage on Facebook last night saying: “Thanks to everyone for their texts and emails.
“To confirm; We had a complete engine failure 80 miles from Nairobi (the end part for our vintage air rally) and had to crash land.
“Both Bella and I are thankfully fine.
“The plane was destroyed but we walked away without a scratch.
“Given our detainment in Ethiopia and this, I can honestly say, we are ready to come home!”
