Mistaken Identity: Captain America star Chris Evans has Twitter feed bombarded with angry comments from Top Gear fans criticising UK’s namesake’s performance

The highly anticipated new series of Top Gear began last weekend and needless to say the much loved series failed to get off the line so to speak as die hard fans were not impressed with new hosts Chris Evans and Matt LeBlanc.

The duo who took over from messers Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May faced a barrage of criticism on social media for their lacklustre performance on the popular motoring show.

However the two stars were not the only ones who felt the wrath of angry viewers as Evans’s namesake and Hollywood superstar Captain America himself Chris Evans had his Twitter feed bombarded with hateful and angry comments about the series premiere of the rebooted show.

The Hollywood and big screen star who has probably not even watched an episode of the BBC show is left wondering what on Earth is going after angry viewers took to the social media site to voice their discontent. With one user writing, Just got round to watching the new @BBC_TopGear.@chrisevans is just copying @JeremyClarkson and has killed that show RIP @BBC_TopGear, whilst another user wrote, You were rubbish in Top Gear @ChrisEvans.

The rather harsh response which will surely have everyone’s favourite superhero scratching his head. The actor himself has not yet revealed what he thought of the criticism meant for his British counterpart. We cant help but wonder if Cap himself will be a future star in the Reasonably Priced Car?.
