There have been mixed reactions to Irish politicians declaring a climate emergency, after the UK did likewise in recent days.
Ireland is now only the second country to make such a bold declaration.
The move comes on foot of a Fianna Fail-led amendment on the recently published Climate Action report.
While all parties agreed that it is a positive step, there’s very little actual action being taken to address climate change, and Ireland has in fact repeatedly missed its carbon emissions targets.
Many people on social media claim climate change is just a myth to further tax individuals while others are saying that they agree with the declaration.
