There has been a mixed reaction to Philomena Begley’s rendition of the Christmas classic “Fairytale in New York” after she took to the stage on Friday night’s Late Late Show to sing with star of the show, Shane MacGowan.
Arguably Ireland’s greatest ever songwriter, the legendary Shane MacGowan was honoured with a tribute show on Friday night’s Late Late.
While his wife and sister were by his side as he recounted tales from his life that led him to become of the world’s biggest musicians, Shane eventually took up the mic and sang “Fairytale in New York” with Philomena Begley.
