Roderic O’Gorman, however, issued a warning, stating that thousands of Ukrainians who had assimilated into communities will be impacted by any changes to the payment.
According to him, the contribution is a crucial component of Ireland’s attempts to fulfil its international commitments by offering Ukrainians temporary refuge.
According to him, any modifications would need clarification about the location of substitute accommodations, reports RTE.
Pearse Doherty of Sinn Féin stated that the payment is unjustly pricing other tenants out of the market and is having an effect on the availability of dwellings.

He said, “More and more people are questioning this payment,” noting that recipients receive it regardless of employment status, reports RTE.
Holly Cairns, the leader of the Social Democrats, countered that Fine Gael’s presence in government is the real factor causing homelessness, not migration.
Almost 4,500 children were among the approximately 14,000 persons who were homeless, according to her.

But that hasn’t stopped the Taoiseach trying to shift the blame…onto migrants,” reports RTE.
This is a clear dog-whistle, she said.
When she questioned Roderic O’Gorman about this, the head of the Green Party said that it was crucial to be “absolutely factual” about the situation, reports RTE.
According to Deputy O’Gorman, the truth is that IP applicants are not entitled to housing subsidies, HAP, or homeless services, and this also holds true for Ukrainians.
The Department of Housing would keep addressing homelessness, according to Deputy O’Gorman, reports RTE.
