The pay rise bonanza is now being fuelled by Dublin Bus drivers, who are seeking a 30pc pay rise to achieve “parity” with their Luas drivers counterparts.
The parties involved in the new dispute will meet at the Labour Court on Thursday, after a previous offer of a 6pc pay rise was rejected.
Bus drivers are now aiming to get an 18.2% rise as the Luas drivers did, plus an extra 12% that represents pay increases granted to the tram drivers in recent years.
