The Molly Malone statue in Dublin has been cleaned after it was vandalized with paint yet again.

In a statement, Dublin City Council said: “We can confirm that the Molly Malone statue has been vandalised with black paint. We will be removing the paint as soon as possible,” reports RTE.

The statue is located on Suffolk Street and is a popular landmark among tourists.

South East Inner City Fine Gael councillor Danny Byrne said the statue was “iconic” and the vandalism came after Luke Kelly recently attacked the statue.

He said the city “just got to get tough” on anti-social behaviour and is now at a point where “city filled with CCTV”, reports RTE.
