British schoolgirl Molly Russell died in November 2017 after suffering the “negative effects of online content”, according to a senior coroner.
Coroner Andrew Walker said the online images the 14-yr-old saw on sites like Instagram and Pinterest wasn’t safe and that it should not be visible to a child.
Molly’s father, Ian Russell, said he hoped the deal would be an important step in bringing about much-needed change, reports RTE.
Russell asked Meta boss Mark Zuckerberg to “just listen and then do something about it.”
As he was wrapping up a press conference, Mr Russell’s voice cracked as he said: ‘Thank you Molly for being my daughter. Thank you.’
The broken-hearted father said that not a day goes by that he doesn’t blame himself.
