More and more calls for a People’s Referendum on immigration policy that protects Irish people first and controls the number of immigrants allowed to come in

More and more people are saying that the Irish public should have a say on whether we take any further refugees into the country or how many we should be taking in.

Many on social media are saying that it will affect our country’s future and that we should determine what that future should be.

There have been calls on social media for Irish citizens to be given the opportunity to say what they want to happen in relation to immigration and how many people we actually allow into the country, including those coming from the Ukraine.

There are serious and legitimate concerns surrounding our governments immigration policy.

Our government’s stance on bringing 200,000 Ukrainians and thousands of asylum seekers (every year) into Ireland without any consultation, plan or costings is a major concern.

We, the Irish taxpayers and out children will ultimately foot the bill for their housing, social welfare payments, education and medical bills.

With such unplanned inflows of foreign people into Ireland over a short period of time, this will ultimately ensure our Irish children will not be able to find a place to rent, will not be able to find an affordable starter family home. Thousands of Homeless Irish families will be left in one room sub standard hotel and B&B rooms as our government buys private housing stock and builds public housing for these new arrivals.

Our public services are already at breaking point. Just look at the state of our Public Health Service with massive waiting lists. It’s so dire that people are struggling to even get an appointment with a GP.

Not once did the Irish government ask their voters about their out of control immigration plans. Not once did they provide a plan or costings. The media are working in tandem with the government to put a gloss over the immigration plans.

What we need now is a political party or interested civil society group to start planning an emergency referendum to ask the Irish Community to approve or reject the open borders policy that has been imposed on us by successive governments and EU Eurocrats.

The results of such a Peoples Referendum should then be enshrined in our Constitution to ensure current and future politicians and NGO’s do not impose their own open borders ideologies that out our own people into hardship and risk.
