The already hard pressed consumer is coming under further pressure today, as Bord Gáis has just announced that it’s raising its prices from next month.
From August 6, a unit of gas will cost 4.7% more, and the price of electricity will climb by 5.8%.
As usual, the hike is blamed on ‘ rising wholesale prices.’
Energy prices have risen across the board in recent days, with most suppliers announcing hikes.
