With the assistance of more than volunteers, the search for sheep farmer Michael Gaine, who was last seen in Kenmare town on Thursday, resumed on Sunday, reports The Mirror.
The 56-year-old Michael’s disappearance is still being investigated as a missing persons case by the GardaÃ, who are urging anybody with information to come forward.
In the search for the Carraig East area of Kenmare, local volunteers are assisting the Irish Coast Guard helicopter Rescue 115, the fire department, the GardaÃ, Kerry Civil Defence, Iveragh Coast Guard, and Kerry Mountain Rescue, reports The Mirror.
The area of rocky land above and below Mr. Gaine’s house was the focus of the search on Saturday. Mr. Gaine’s automobile was among many vehicles that were taken from the site on Saturday.
Mr. Gaine’s close friend and manager of Kenmare Co-Op, Independent Councillor Dan McCarthy, stated that it is unusual for Mr. Gaine to disappear, reports The Mirror.
He stated that although he and his spouse reside outside of Kenmare, the 56-year-old sheep and cattle farmer owns 1,000 acres of land in the region.
“You can see the massive amount of cars and people here that have been searching ’til late last night and again today. We’re all so concerned and I want to thank everyone coming out and helping,” Mr McCarthy told RTÉ News, reports The Mirror.
“It’s not like Mike to be missing because he was always around to feed the animals in the morning and in the evening,” Mr McCarthy said, reports The Mirror.
