The most expensive hospital anywhere in the world will not be operational until at least late 2024, according to Government sources.
The controversial National Paediatric Hospital being built in the capital will be ‘substantially’ complete by March 2024, but it’s not predicted to be anywhere near usable until much later.
Over €1.1bn has already been spent on this money pyre, though ‘updates’ on costs are fully expected over the coming months and years, and the final amount is bound to be multiples of the original budget of €650m.
