Gardaí in Co Cork have confirmed that six people including a baby boy have been treated for smoke inhalation following a fire in Blackpool.
It is understood all six people were treated in hospital following the fire which broke out at an apartment complex on Gearld Griffin street at approximately 12:15am this morning.
Gardaí say firefighters quickly arrived at the scene to control the blaze after the building was quickly evacuated.
Thankfully there were no reported injuries although the baby boy and his mother had to be taken to hospital for further treatment.
An investigation into what caused the fire is currently ongoing.
