A woman who was jailed in the UK for causing or allowing the death of her 17-month-old son is due to be released from prison.

According to the Metro, 40-year-old Tracey Connelly was jailed in 2009 with a minimum term of five years following the death of her little boy who was known as Baby P during the trial.  His name was afterwards revealed as Peter.  He suffered a broken back and 50 injuries in all, caused by Connelly’s paedophile partner Steven Barker and his brother, Jason Owen.

Connelly was originally released from prison in 2013 but recalled in 2015 because she allegedly breached her licence conditions by allegedly selling nude pictures to online male fans.

The decision of the Parole Board to release her led to a challenge by the UK government, insisting that she should not be released.  However, the Board rejected their request and it is reported that she will now be free once again.

Steven Barker will not be released as he is currently serving a minimum 32 year sentence for his actions in torturing the little boy to death and for raping a 2-year-old girl.
