The mother of 2-yr-old Hassan Khan who was killed on Thursday in an apartment in Ballybrack, Co. Dublin, appeared in court this morning at 10am.
The 46-yr-old woman appeared in Dublin District Court and was named as Hazel Waters with an address at Ridge Hall, Ballybrack, Co. Dublin.
She was charged with the murder of her son by Detective Sergeant Joe O’Hara in Dun Laoghaire garda station. She made no response when she was charged with the murder.
Her solicitor Padraig O’Donovan told the court the accused was on a lone-parent allowance and free legal aid was granted as a result.
She was granted free legal aid after her solicitor Pádraig O’Donovan told the court her only income was a lone parent allowance.
Judge John Coughlan remanded her in custody to appear again before the court next Wednesday.
