A mother who murdered her new-born son by abandoning him in the woods has been imprisoned for at least nine years.
Silipa Keresi, 38, wrapped Maliki Keresi in a towel and left him helpless and alone in bad weather on March 5, 2020 in Hythe, New Forest, Hampshire, UK.
The defendant, who was married to a former Commonwealth soldier in the British Army, said in court that her life had been terrible over the past couple of years.
The court also heard that she had been a victim of domestic violence since 2008, but none of that made a difference with the 38-yr-old woman facing a minimum of nine years in prison.
The case shocked the local community, but locals are now saying that at least some sort of justice is service – albeit a far too lenient sentence.
