Gardai have advised motorists to take extra care today and this evening as temperatures plummet over the weekend.

Wintry showers are forecast to fall in the east before moving northwards and further moving Westwards from 4pm.
Temperatures are said to drop to -2c again tonight with icy conditions predicted on B roads especially.
