The weather has taken a marked turn for the worst today, bringing wind and rain across the country.
And things won’t be much better over the weekend, as up to 40mm of rain is forecast in places.
Motorists are advised to proceed with extra caution, as roads will become dangerous places over the next 48h.
Met Eireann has issued a status yellow weather warning for counties Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois and Offaly. The warning will remain in effect until 1pm on Saturday.
