
Met Eireann have announced that an orange and yellow status weather warning will remain in place until 3pm on Sunday following Storm Emma.
In a statement released this afternoon the national forecaster said the warnings will remain in place as conditions will remain tricky on Saturday and overnight.
The orange status weather warning will apply to the following regions Munster, Leinster, Cavan and Monaghan.
Meannwhile a status yellow warning is in place for Connaught and Donegal.
Met Eireann say motorists should be very careful whilst traveling as spots of black ice are expected in most regions.
They are also advising the public not to make any unnecessary travel plans as conditions are highly dangerous.
