Motorists warned to be extra vigilant this morning as icy conditions are expected in many places




Motorists across the country are being warned to be extra vigilant on the nations roads this morning as freezing conditions are expected in most places.

The warning comes as many people are returning to work after the Christmas break today, and the national forecaster Met Eireann have advised those traveling to take extra precaution as fog and icy conditions are expected to remain in the early hours of the morning.

Met Eireann say the south of the country will experience the worst of the cold snap as temperatures are expected to be as low as -4C overnight.

However the cold snap will not be around for long as the forecaster says temperatures’ will pick up later in the week with the weather expected to become a lot milder.
