Temperatures feel to well below zero for most of the country last night – particularly on the east coast.
As a result of the freezing conditions, motorists have been advised by both the AA and gardai to take extra care on the roads this morning as black ice is widespread nationwide.
Met Eireann issued a weather warning which is still in place until midday today where they’ll review the conditions and forecast.
Meanwhile motorists are advised to leave extra time for journeys today and take care particularly on B roads.
