Up to 150 people might have perished after a glacier broke off in northern India, causing an avalanche that crashed into a hydroelectric dam.
The event sparked a huge surge of water that cascaded down and flooded villages downstream from the dam in the Dhauli Ganga river valley.
Local authorities have said that between 100-150 people might have died in the incident.
Rescue efforts are ongoing.
