The Israeli parliament has passed a law which will permit the government to “name and shame” citizens who have refused to take the vaccine against Covid-19.
The Knesset passed the measure by 30 votes to 13 with it local governments, the director general of the education ministry and some in the welfare ministry have the right to receive the names, addresses and phone numbers of everyone who has not had the vaccine.
The measure is designed to “to enable these bodies to encourage people to vaccinate by personally addressing them”, according to a statement issued by the Knesset.
Israeli authorities have taken a series of measures to make life difficult for those who refuse to take the new experimental vaccine.
