The National Public Health Emergency Team are expected to meet later today to discuss the Covid-19 outbreak.
According to RTÉ News the meeting comes as the team will discuss a number of issues in regards to the outbreak.
It is expected that the team will discuss a number of issues including implementing further protective measures for healthcare staff and people in nursing homes.
The news comes after it was revealed on Thursday that there are 402 new cases of the virus in the Republic of Ireland.
