Netanyahu completely rejects calls for ceasefire as battle continues with ‘full force’

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has rejected growing international calls for a ceasefire in Gaza and said Israel’s war to suppress Hamas militants will continue “in full force”.

The Israeli leader also emphasized that after the war, which is now in its sixth week, Gaza will be demilitarized and Israel will retain security control there.

Asked what he meant by security checks, Netanyahu said Israeli forces must enter Gaza to pursue the militants, reports Breaking News.

Both positions are contrary to the post-war situation promoted by Israel’s closest ally, the United States.

Secretary of State Anthony Blinken said the United States opposes Israel’s reoccupation of Gaza and views a unified Palestinian government in both Gaza and the West Bank as a step toward a Palestinian state.

Mr Netanyahu said: “The war against (Hamas) is advancing with full force, and it has one goal, to win. There is no alternative to victory,” reports Breaking News.
