Some people on social media have stated that they’ll never take part in the annual Darkness into Light event again after realising that the charity’s CEO is on a whopping €150,000 including benefits.

Social media saw photos of people walking during the night with some captions saying “never again, the money is just going to big salaries”.

Many people are querying where the monies raised for the Darkness into Light event is actually going to.

According to the most up-to-date findings, the CEO of Pieta House is on €120,000 rising to €150,000 with benefits.

It would seem that many people on social media are completely unaware of such a massive salary, with some saying they want to know why it has to be so high and where exactly the funding for such a salary is coming from.

Last night saw the annual ‘Darkness into Light’ walk take place around the country.
