According to latest figures this morning the number of homeless children and families is continuing to rise.
New research shows there were 2,177 homeless children in 1,054 families homeless across the country last month. The alarming figures represent a 79% increase in the number of children currently without home since this time last year.
Figures say this time last year there were 1,211 homeless children in 565 families. The report shows Dublin, was the hardest hit area with 1,847 children in emergency accommodation, in 913 families.
