A new ‘living wage’ scheme will be introduced in Ireland by 2026.
The new scheme will replace the current minimum wage legislation.
The ‘living wage’ is currently set at €12.17, which is almost €2 above the current minimum wage of €10.50, so it’s unclear how much of a real impact this will have in four years’ time. When adjusted to inflation, the ‘living wage’ will likely be less than the current minimum wage.
