A new party called Independent Ireland was registered with the electoral authorities, reports Breaking News.
The new group aims to have Cork South-West TD Michael Collins as its chairman and Limerick County TD Richard O’Donoghue TD as general secretary.
The Electoral Commission approved a new party to field candidates in the general, local and European elections, reports Breaking News.
Once the 21-day appeal period expires or the appeal is heard, the party will become only the 27th political party in Ireland.
The official notice was published on Friday in the official Irish state newspaper Iris Ofigiuil, the Electoral Commission said, reports Breaking News.
