People have very short memories, it seems, or enjoy the misery that Fianna Fál’s legacy created the last time around.
A new poll has revealed that there is increasing popular support for the Fianna Fáil leader, Micheál Martin, to become the next Taoiseach.
It is understood that the Cabinet will meet this afternoon to discuss options to form a government, following the election’s undecisive results.
Current laws set out in the Constitution indicate that the outgoing Taoiseach and Ministers remain in their roles until a new Taoiseach is elected and a government formed.
