According to a recent report conducted by property website Daft.ie the price of rent all across the country is at an all time high.
The detailed report which shows growing rates which are similar to those at the start of the economic boom in 2002.
The leading website has said the price of rent in the last four months of 2016, has risen by 13.5%. The figures also show that the average monthly rate stood €1,111 in December.
The report also claims Dublin, is still the dearest place to rent a property with annual rent rates increasing by 14.5%.
Meanwhile Cork remains the second most expensive place to rent a home with rates rising by 12% during 2016.
