According to a new report published by the National Treatment Purchase Fund the country’s Hospital waiting lists have increased by over 11,000 in the past month.
The latest report shows that 11,460 patients joined the previous list of 603,152 in the month of February.
It now is understood that over 614,620 people are waiting on day case treatment, gastrointestinal checks, outpatient appointments and in other areas.
The increase adds more pressure to an already stretched health service which experiences daily overcrowding problems and has been labelled a scandal by many top level health officials’ who are calling on the Government to address the situation sooner rather than later.
