According to a recent report published by the Health Protection Surveillance Centre (HSPC), there were over 57 deaths linked with the fatal flu virus this winter.
The report says although the fatalities are decreasing, the majority of those who sadly lost their lives were over the age of 65.
The report also says even though the fatal epidemic is almost over the number of deaths are rising in comparison to recent years.
The HSPC have also echoed the HSE’s recent warning asking people particularly those in the at risk to still get vaccinated if they haven’t already done so.
