The New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has said that the country has won the battle against the spread of Covid-19, but warns that there is a still a long way to go.
Ardern’s comments come as the country begins to ease restrictions in the coming days with schools, small businesses and takeaways to reopen.
Although the Prime Minister warns that there won’t be an immediate return to normal life, she said that the country won the battle in terms of spreading the virus.
The New Zealand Prime Minister made her comments after the country reported just one single case of the virus over the past 24 hours.
According to latest figures there are 1,122 cases with 19 deaths in the country.
