The baby girl found abandoned in West Dublin earlier this afternoon is in a stable condition in hospital, according to sources.
The shocking discovery took place in Rathcoole, Dublin, at around 3.30pm.
The baby, who is believed to be just hours old, was rushed to Tallaght hospital, where she received emergency medical treatment. She is now said to be in a stable condition there.
Gardai are concerned for the welfare of the mother, and are advising her to seek medical attention immediately.
