No chance of a white Christmas this year as Met Éireann give their forecast

There is no chance of a white Christmas this year, as Christmas Day is set to be a wet one countrywide.

Met Éireann Stated:

“Christmas Day will start mild with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle.

“The rain will turn persistent in the west and then spread across the country in the afternoon.

“Highest temperatures of 11 to 13 degrees in the morning, but turning cooler in the afternoon with the rain in fresh and gusty southwest winds.”

They added: “The last of the rain will clear the southeast and it will turn colder with lowest temperatures of 1 to 4 degrees. Showers will continue on Atlantic coasts but elsewhere it will be dry.”

Rain will continue throughout St. Stephen’s Day.

“St Stephens Day will be a bright day with sunny spells. Scattered showers will continue in the west and north but it will be mainly dry elsewhere.

“Highest temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees in moderate westerly breezes.

“The night will be dry and cold with frost in many areas.”
