No date is set but speculation is rampant that an election could happen as early as February

It’s getting closer and closer as the days go by – a general election will happen in 2020 and speculation is rampant as to when that will be.

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar met with Fianna Fail leader Micheal Martin to discuss a possible date for the upcoming general election.

Micheal Martin recently predicted that he’d be Taoiseach ‘within five years’, so who knows what the meeting will entail or what voter-pact they’ll agree to.

The Liberal has been told by a number of sources that they believe the date for the general election will be February 7th but this is not confirmed officially by any politician so it’s still anyone’s guess.
