The news comes after four council’s that occupy County Dublin are being urged to enforce the ruling which would see no takeaways operating within a 500m radius of any public school. The call has come from Senator Catherine Noone who says it is highly essential, given in mind that a quarter of the nations 11 year olds are now clinically obese.

Senator Noone claims that it is highly important to limit children’s access to unhealthy fast foods as the situation is getting worse each year, Ms Noone told reporters: “Ideally that we would not plan to have chippers near schools, that’s the whole point, I mean I think it speaks for itself.” “We have a huge obesity problem in this country and every little step that we can take to improve that situation I think is welcome.”
