If you’re a fan of McDonalds then you’re going to have a wait a little while to get a happy meal again because they’re about to shut for the foreseeable future from this evening.
The fast food giant McDonalds has announced that it’s going to close all its Irish and UK stores from 7pm this evening.
It means that it’s the latest high-street chain to announce its closure during the coronavirus outbreak.
Posting on social media the home of Big Mac team wrote that the decision had not been ‘taken lightly’.
They had cordoned off areas but now they’re closing the entire premise. It announced the closures of all branches with a ‘see you soon’ post.
“We have taken the difficult decision to close all McDonald’s restaurants in the UK and Ireland by 7pm on Monday 23rd March.
“This is not a decision we are taking lightly, but one made with the well-being and safety of our employees in mind as well as the best interests of our customers.”
