No signs of an Indian Summer just yet as forecasters at Met Eireann say temperatures are to remain low

It may be the beginning of September and the kids are back at school which normally means that the weather picks up across the country in what forecasters call an Indian summer.

However Met Eireann have warned that you shouldn’t put away your overcoat just yet. Leading forecaster Joan Blackburn has said although September will begin with it being mainly dry, the country will remain largely cold as winds coming from the north will keep temperatures in the low teens. The remainder of the month will apparently consist of heavy showers along low temperatures.

The nations leading forecaster also said she doesn’t expect the so called Indian summer to arrive until towards the end of the month if it arrives at all. Ms Blackburn said the current weather maps suggest that the country may miss out on any searing temperatures as the data currently suggests the country’s weather is set to get predominantly colder rather than warmer.
