No snow on Christmas Day, as temperatures will remain relatively mild for the time of year

Those hoping for a White Christmas better think again, as Met Eireann has all but ruled out such possibility.

According to the forecast, the weather will remain rather unsettled for the next few days, with temperatures hitting 10-11C at times and plenty rainfall.

In the meantime, the forecast for Thursday is for sunny spells with occasional heavy showers and a chance of hail.

Friday will begin bright and dry, but long spells of rain will develop later in the day.
