No summer in sight, as wet and unsettled conditions are set to continue

No summer is yet in sight, as wet and unsettled conditions are set to continue until the end of the week at least, and possibly into the weekend.

Met Eireann is predicting heavy rain by Thursday evening, becoming widespread during the night.

Friday will remain wet, and the weekend is not looking much better, with outbreaks of rain, more persistent across the west and north.

Temperature wise, it will remain relatively mild, with highs of 21C at times.
