Note praising 9/11 and referencing Al-Qaeda found on Christ Church Cathedral in Dublin

A note praising the September 11th, 2001 terror attacks on the United States and mentioning Al-Qaeda was found on the grounds of Christ Church by an American tourist just minutes before there was a small explosion in a nearby bin a source has told the Irish Times.

The tourist found the note attached to a rose, another rose was also beside it but not attached, the unnamed American visitor then took the note and the flowers and out them in a bin outside the perimeter of the Cathedral and moments later the small explosion detonated.

It is not clear if the flowers or the note were related to the explosion or this was all just some astronomically unlikely coincidence.

The explosion which caused some rubbish to burn in the bin was caused by fireworks wrapped in “suspicious packaging” an examination by members of the Defence Forces determined.

The Garda have been extremely guarded in their public response to incident.

“Gardaí dealt with an incident that occurred on Monday 21st, October 2019 at Christchurch, Dublin 8 at approximately 1pm. No further information. No further investigations,” a Garda spokesman said.
