NPHET wants at least 90% of over 16s to be vaccinated before they’ll allow restrictions to be lifted

Many people on social media appear to be truly fed up with Ireland’s Chief Medical Officer Dr Tony Holohan, NPHET and their demands.

Things appear to not be changing any time soon either with Holohan issuing further demands from the Irish public.

The National Public Health Emergency Team have written to the Government calling on 90% of the population over the age 16 to be fully vaccinated.

In the letter NPHET have reportedly called for 90% plus of the over 16 population to be vaccinated before restrictions can be eased.

The news comes as the HSE have revealed that 87% of the adult population are fully vaccinated, whilst 90.3% have received their first Covid-19 vaccine dose.

It is understood that it would take a total of six weeks before NPHET’s target is reached meaning the easing of restrictions won’t occur until October at the earliest.
