Objections to “Up the Dubs” banners being used on Ha’penny Bridge this year

There have been a number of objection to “Up the Dubs” banners being draped across Dublin’s iconic Ha’penny Bridge again this year.

The banners are usually seen coming up to big games in the All-Ireland which feature Dublin against a rival team.

This year however, according to RTE News, the Dublin Civic Trust has vehemently objected to any “Up the Dubs” banners being hung on the Ha’penny Bridge.

The Dublin Civic Trust claims that the bridge is a historic and protected structure and has been there since 1816 and should never be used for any sort of promotional work.

The banners however have been a source of great joy and pride to many from the Capital so at the moment, 2018 “Up the Dubs” Ha’penny bridge banners are very much in review.
