Where else would you find it? School children just about get a little longer break than Irish politicians.
The Dail has closed its doors (metaphorically) to the TDs from around the country until September. The summer resess has officially gotten underway with Irish politicians including the Taoiseach Leo Varadkar, Minister for Health Simon Harris and Tanaiste Simon Coveney all getting a staggering 8 weeks holidays away from the public’s prying eyes.
Hard to take as it may be, it adds insult to injuries to think that private workers are lucky to get one or two weeks off a summer and likewise at Christmas, if they’re lucky.
So keep an eye out in your locality for “your man, or your one” who you see from time to time on the news spinning around town in their swanky car – you have about 2 months to say hi!
