HSE boss Paul Reid has announced his resignation at the end of the year 2022.
Reid, whose salary package exceeded €400,000 last year, will step down in December and said he has no immediate career plans.
In a message to employees today, Reid said it was with a heavy heart that he made the decision and that it was the most difficult decision he has ever made regarding his own career.
Reid was at the helm of the HSE during the entire pandemic. He will be entitled to a massive pension once he steps down.
